Sarah Izant is the Deputy Secretary for Climate Policy at the California Environmental Protection Agency, appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom. She leads statewide efforts to advance environmental initiatives and implement strategies that strengthen California’s commitment to sustainability and climate resilience.
Sarah previously served the City and County of San Francisco as the Mayor London Breed’s Manager of State and Federal Affairs, Environmental Policy Advisor, and Deputy Press Director. She has also held advisory and policy roles within California and US government agencies.
